Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX) announced that its GHX Health ConneXionSM is compliant with the new GS1 Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) Major Release 3 (MR3) that goes into effect tomorrow, May 20. GHX customers will be in compliance with MR3 from day one with the GDSN updates that better meet today’s regulatory and digital requirements, including the FDA’s Unique Device Identification (UDI) rule and the European EU1169.
Health ConneXion is the only healthcare-focused data pool certified by the GDSN. Healthcare suppliers can leverage their existing connection to GHX to more readily participate in the GDSN without significant implementation costs. And if a supplier is not currently connected to the GHX Exchange, that supplier can still access GDSN-certified data through Health ConneXion as a standalone service.
“Expanded use of industry standards promises to enable greater visibility and collaboration in the healthcare supply chain, which in turn helps improve accuracy and efficiencies, and leads to better quality patient care and improved financial performance,” said Bill Brewer, manager product management, GHX. “But the challenge is that implementation can be riddled with obstacles, including lack of good data. Now suppliers can be confident that they are in compliance with MR3 and accelerate the use of GS1 standards in healthcare through the GHX Health ConneXion data pool.”
